Formaldehyde-Free MicroPCMs

DESCRIPTION
Microtek is pleased to announce a new product launching 4th  quarter 2009 – formaldehyde-free microPCMs.  This line of microPCM products will provide an alternative to our standard PCMs for those products and applications which must adhere to stricter regulatory requirements. 

APPLICATIONS
The new formaldehyde-free PCMs function in the same way as our standard microPCMs, serving to provide temperature regulation and thermal energy storage.  They are ideal for applications such as medical devices, surgical accessories (gloves, scrubs, masks), patient care (blankets, pillows), and infant and children’s apparel and products.

PROPERTIES
The microPCM product has the following general properties:

• Color: White to slightly off-white.
• Capsule wall chemistry:  Formaldehyde-free.
• Temperatures available: 28C (more temperatures available soon).
• PCM content in capsule: 85 – 90 wt.%.
• Mean particle size: 17-25 micron.
• Forms available: - Dry powder, or - Wet filter cake (70% microcapsules and 30% water).
